Stills from the ‘’Other Than Here’’ short film featuring the Urban Blossom. This piece follows the artist, Teshome Douglas-Campbell, as he prepares and works on a new piece of work. The first part of the short film was shot at Brighton’s Royal Pavilion. We observe Teshome as he is investigating and experiencing this building in preparation for a new painting he is making.

The second part of this film continues at Teshome’s painting studio in London. It gives an insight into the importance of exploring and experiencing places between periods of creation. Highlighting the need in seeking stimuli, sparking new ideas for projects.

The Espresso Portal was inspired by a very unique lid on an espresso cup when visiting a random cafe in Italy. I wanted to create a ring that had a flat appearance and that had a simple form like the large circle on the lid. I then knew that I wanted to introduce a clover within the large circular form. Within that clover, the street of Beck Road in Hackney would unfold, a beautiful row of terraced housing intersected by a large set of railway arches. The ring is made sustainably in London with the most advanced industrial technology, expertise and materials.
